Resident Evil 3 doesn’t have any alternate game modes like Resident Evil 2 did after players beat the game for the first time, but it does have some challenging difficulties to be unlocked through the “Nightmare” and “Inferno” modes. Both of these are extremely challenging and are huge steps up from the normal Resident Evil 3 experience, but they’re worth checking out if only for a few moments. If you want to play through them only to see what’s new and aren’t concerned with a purist playthrough, unlock one or two of the infinite-ammo weapons from the in-game shop and bring those weapons into the mode.
